Are you interested in exploring the underwater world a bit deeper? Don’t want to miss out on opportunities to visit unique dive sites that require more advanced training? The SSI Deep Diving specialty course will provide you with the knowledge and skills required to dive to a maximum depth of 40 meters while accompanied by a diver with equivalent or more advanced training. At our Bali diving school, you will learn to plan for, recognize, and handle the additional risks that are associated with deep diving, which will boost your confidence and enhance your enjoyment of scuba diving in Bali and worldwide!

Safety is our top priority while we strive to provide an inclusive and supportive scuba dive training environment for all our students. Our class sizes are kept small, with a maximum of two (2) students per Instructor.

What to Expect During the Deep Diving Course?

Your SSI Deep Diving course begins when you enroll and gain access to the digital learning materials, which you are required to complete prior to arriving at our Bali diving school. When you arrive at our dive centre for your two-day Deep Diving course, we will finalize any administrative details and then the excitement of your in-water training begins! You will join your instructor and fellow students on two (2) dives each day at some of Bali’s best dive sites to practice various underwater exercises including:

  • Adjust equipment at depth
  • Hover at depth
  • Deploy a surface marker buoy while underwater
  • Calculate surface air consumption rate

After the dives, you will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before returning to our dive centre with a new skill set! At Ocean Gravity Bali, we prioritize safety and certification is issued based on each student’s ability, comfort level, and knowledge. Your instructor will assess your progress throughout the course and will decide if you are eligible for certification. For more information, please read our Terms & Conditions.

What You Need to Know

While the SSI Deep Diving course is intended for all those wishing to expand their scuba diving knowledge in Bali, it is required that all participants: 

  • Be at least 15 years old
  • Be certified as an SSI Open Water Diver or equivalent
  • Complete the SSI Diver Medical Participant Questionnaire or submit a valid medical statement or Physician’s Approval to Dive form
