Are you interested in becoming a more confident diver? As recreational divers, we often dive with a guide who takes us on a tour of the dive site, but you will feel more comfortable exploring dive sites with a buddy if you have developed your underwater navigation skills. At our Bali diving school, you will learn how to navigate using a compass and natural techniques, which will boost your confidence and enhance your enjoyment of scuba diving in Bali and worldwide!

Safety is our top priority while we strive to provide an inclusive and supportive scuba dive training environment for all our students. Our class sizes are kept small, with a maximum of two (2) students per Instructor.

What to Expect During The Navigation Diving Course?

Your SSI Navigation course begins when you enroll and gain access to the digital learning materials, which you are required to complete prior to arriving at our Bali diving school. When you arrive at our dive centre for your Navigation course, we will finalize any administrative details and then the excitement of your in-water training begins! You will join your instructor and fellow students on two (2) dives at some of Bali’s best dive sites to practice various underwater exercises including:

  • Estimate distance
  • Return to a fixed point
  • Follow basic navigation patterns using a compass
  • Demonstrate natural navigation techniques

After the dives, you will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before returning to our dive centre with a newfound confidence and skill set! At Ocean Gravity Bali, we prioritize safety and certification is issued based on each student’s ability, comfort level, and knowledge. Your instructor will assess your progress throughout the course and will decide if you are eligible for certification. For more information, please read our Terms and Conditions.

What You Need to Know

While the SSI Navigation course is intended for all those wishing to expand their scuba diving knowledge in Bali, it is required that all participants: 

  • Be at least 10 years old
  • Be certified as an SSI Open Water Diver or equivalent
  • Complete the SSI Diver Medical Participant Questionnaire or submit a valid medical statement or Physician’s Approval to Dive form
